Basically, the premise here is that I'm going to 'quit' pre-packaged energy bars and gels in favour of home-cooked energy filled goodies!
I'd been into the idea of 'eating proper food' for a while, but the convenience of the bars and gels was to, well, convenient (plus I'd won a stash of really tasty Clif bars at the Big Bike Bash - I won the hill climb donchaknow...).
However, for my birthday I got this book -------->
which is packed with loads of recipes and ideas for 'on the go' food.
I'm also sure it's the author who's 'salt and oil potatoes' it was that got me through the SDW (EDIT - it was! See video below!)
So - from today onwards I'm binning the pre packaged 'stuff' and fuelling my adventures on sticky rice and tiny pies...seriously! Have a look at the book and you'll see what I mean!
I'm just in the process of making the chocolate and blueberry rice cakes in prep for riding tonight, so I'll let you know how I get on...
